Pie recipes as far as the eye can see are here, just in time for a celebration of pie!
Once again, I’m doing my best to suck y’all into the vortex of Eternal Geekdom by celebrating National Pi Day. The one day of the year dedicated to circumference over diameter, or by the more common name of Pi.
Pi = 3.14…
Today is National Pi Day
Today = March 14 = 3/14 = Pie
Thus proving my life-long theory that all holidays worth celebrating are within two degrees of separation from Pi Pie.
While I’m still basking in the glow of fabulousness that is the Orange Cream Pie, I’ve also been daydreaming about many a pie from a several talented bloggers. Take a gander at the sheer brilliance that’s been keeping me up at night musing about pastry:
I adore the flavors of bananas foster in any form, but these Bananas Foster Fried Pies from Jeanne/Inside NanaBread’s Head have been lingering just under the surface of my subconscious for years now. They pop up when I least expect it, which can only mean one thing–one of these days, I’m going to have to break down and fry a dang pie.
Banana Split Brownie Pie from Jocelyn/InsideBruCrewLife is All Good Things wrapped up in a pretty pie package: a waffle cone crust, fudgy brownie filling, cheesecake topping, fresh strawberries, and hot fudge.
Pie recipes don’t get much more delicious than this!
I can tell that we’re in the month of March because I’m tired of the snow, I’m even more tired of being perpetually cold, and I’m craving All Things Summer Berry. Stuffed with raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries to the brink of bursting, Mads’ Snozzberry Pie should help tide me over until berry season.
Also fulfilling my yearning for summer berries is the absolutely stunning Tall Blueberry Pie from Chasing Delicious (Rambunctious House Media, LLC). An abundance of blueberries cradled in a whole wheat, brown sugar crust makes this pie an impressive centerpiece, just brimming with summer flavor.
Brownie pie recipes are good on their own, but the addition of a creamy coconut and banana layer really caught my attention. Carrie/BakeaholicMama channeled what a rotten week into a pie with the power to chase away what ails ya with her Coconut Banana Brownie Pie.
My girl Megan, from CountryCleaver, is not afraid to get her pie recipes on! She’s sassy like that–as evidence by her adding a hefty splash of Bailey’s Irish Cream in the lush chocolate custard that fills her Irish Cream and Chocolate Silk Pie. You go, Girl!
Wow. Just wow. I’m pretty sure that Sarah Bolla of LemonFireBrigade.com only knows how to make stunningly gorgeous food. I mean, just Look. At. That. Pie! Fresh, ripe mangoes, artfully snuggled in a delicate floral pattern on a bed of sabayon cream layered atop a coconut oat bran crust. Sarah’s Mango Sabayon Pie is nothing short of exhilarating.
Besides these pie recipes, do you know what else is exhilarating? You.
I don’t say it often enough, so bear with me…
