Happy Wednesday, Friends! The first three days of Sweets Week have me yearning to do a most undignified face-plant into my computer screen because all of the sweets look so stinkin’ good. I want All the Things!
Being that tomorrow is Valentine’s Day–a celebration of all things sweet & love-y–a mid-week Sweets Week recap is definitely in order. I am loving all of the pretty in pink sweets that have been shared!
I kicked things off on Sunday with a load of Joy the Baker inspired Red Velvet and Vanilla Marble Cupcakes with Milk Chocolate Buttercream.
My very talented Friends have brought an amazing array of sweet noshings to the table for Sweets Week, thus far:
Jeanne outdid herself by bringing back a retro favorite: Divinity. She describes it as part marshmallow, part meringue cookie, and studded with just enough nuts to make it interesting. I’m thinking of whipping up a cherry divinity with mini dark chocolate chips instead of the nuts.
Beka baked a batch of cute Peanut Butter Cheesecake Pudding Cookies. The cheesecake flavored pudding in the dough softens what is usually crisp cookie, giving it a richer flavor. The fact that she dipped the cookies in pink candy melts to resemble hearts just adds a little more sweetness to the entire affair.
Madeline, a fellow Michigander, knows that winter in the Great Lakes State is best embraced with crisp biscotti and a steaming cup of coffee. She baked Martha Stewart’s Chocolate Pistachio Biscotti to chase the chill away.
My girl Katie made the most beautiful Mini Meringue Strawberry Pies. I’m super excited to try these little sweeties because they’re fruity, very pink, come in portion-controlled servings and–perhaps most importantly–it gives me yet another reason to bust out the kitchen torch for the meringue.
Ya hear that, Bacon Slayer? I did so need a kitchen torch!
Carrie has me all fired up for her Samoa Crack Dip. Think the flavor of the Girl Scout Cookie but even more addictive because it’s warm, soft, and melt-y. Carrie’s favorite dippers are Ritz crackers and Nilla wafers. I plan to use pretty much anything I can find as a vehicle to Hoover Somoa Crack Dip into my belly.
Are you feeling the sugar buzz? Well hold on to your insulin pumps, because Sweets Week has only begun!
Lauren – Climbing Grier Mountain has my curiosity and tastebuds peaked in anticipation of her Avocado Peppermint Chocolate Mousse that she’s put up on her blog today. Girlfriend is all about justifying dessert by the addition of healthy ingredients. Just is one of the many reasons why I love her.
Truth: I think one of the greatest gifts to mankind has come from none other than Ben & Jerry in the form of Cherries Garcia ice cream. This is exactly why I’m forever indebted to Megan – Country Cleaver for sharing her Cherry Garcia Chocolate Bark with us today. Me + Megan = Soulies
