Super Bowl party food is in the house! With these recipes for sandwiches, appetizers, snacks, and desserts, your Super Bowl party is going to be a winner!
The Super Bowl is kind of a big deal in our house. Not because it their is a football game on, or that it gives me a chance to decorate with cute little footballs–although there is that. The Super Bowl is a big deal because it’s a Food Holiday! Food Holiday’s give me an excuse to make a lot of scrumptious party food for my friends & family.
In years such as these, in which I have no emotional loyalty to either team vying for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, the Super Bowl party food is all I’ve got, man!
OK, I have my friends and family, too. And let’s not forget all the cool new commercials! Or the season premiere of The Voice after the game! It’s a big night! Thanks to the Super Bowl, I’ve get a day full of food, friends, family, new commercials, and Blake Shelton…I mean The Voice premiere. What’s not to love about that?!
When it comes to Super Bowl party entertaining, I like to get to get all of the food ready to go before my friends arrive. That way, I can get out of the kitchen to spend optimal time socializing.
Here’s what I’ll be serving up at the Comfortably Domestic house for our Super Bowl party:
Crowed-Pleasin’ Pulled Pork with NanaBread’s Knock-Off Chicken Bucket Cole Slaw. The pulled pork is probably the most requested thing that I make for company. Everybody loves it! I’m kind of embarrassed by that fact because it’s just so darn easy to make that it hardly feels like I’ve done anything.
I’ll make up for it by whipping up Jeanne’s coleslaw to go with, which really doesn’t take much effort either, but at least it makes me feel better. If you’re like me and you’re are an unashamed fan of a certain Colonel’s coleslaw, then you’ll want to try Jeanne’s knock-off version ASAP. It’s a dead ringer!
Of course a party is not a party without snacks, so there will be plenty of Holly’s Taco Dip to munch on. I consider it the vegetable course of the meal.
And I’ll use any excuse to whip up some Sun-dried Tomato and Artichoke Dip. I could eat that stuff by the truck-load!
For some reason that I have yet to comprehend, the guys in the crowd always balk at dessert. It’s a Super Bowl party, how can we NOT have dessert? They say some jibberish about dessert not going with the beer. Whatever. That just gives the ladies in attendance an excuse to hoard not to offer them any Salted Caramel Brownies. The guys can go ahead and have a beer. Given the choice, I’ll pick chocolate every time!
If a little chocolate is good, more is better, right? I think I’ll make a little Malted Hot Chocolate with Toasted Marshmallows for my boys. It makes them smile and gives me an excellent reason to use my kitchen torch during the halftime show.
Have a great weekend, Friends! 🙂
