For all of my Friends that are rather new to Comfortably Domestic, a few of my blogging friends and I participate in a little fun we call One Kitchen, Many Hearts. Every other month, we do a Round Robin style gift exchange by shipping a box full of themed goodies to each other. Boxes are shipped in the middle of the month, and after all the squee!-ing and tweets of overall happiness have occurred, we post the OKMH Reveal at the end of the month.
This month’s theme for One Kitchen, Many Hearts is Spring Fever! Or Think Spring. Or Spring Fling. Or Will This Winter Ever End So The Flowers Can Bloom?…you get the idea.
I can think of no better way to ring in beg Spring to come to the 45th Parallel than with a box from my Minnesotan neighbor, the lovely Kat. Not only does Kat inspire me to #RunFearless, but she recently completed the in Marathon de Paris in Paris, France. (As opposed to Paris, Texas.)
She flew to France and ran a(nother) marathon, y’all!
Let’s just take a moment to acknowledge the fact that when you start flying to other countries to run marathons, you’re officially a Running Rock Star in my book!
So Kat’s cadeaux du coeur (gifts from the heart) were fresh, fancy, and French!

First up are a pair of mustard that had me gasping with delight. See, I am a tad fussy when it comes to condiments on my sandwiches. I’m decidedly not a mayonnaise or Miracle Whip kind of girl. Not ever. Not in any form. Instead, I use a little mustard in place of the mayo. This fancy-pants French mustard has me dreaming of all the grilled cheese and plethora of panini possibilities.
Also dreamy is this onion confit, which is loaded with honey, and closely resembles my beloved caramellized onions–but without all the chopping and crying over the onions.
Next up is a fig chutney that I am sure will be a fantastic accompaniment to the grilled meats of summer.
Also included is the perfect adornment for a fantastic New Orleans style muffaletta sandwich: a briny, black olive tapenade.
All of these wonderful sandwich accessories can mean only one thing: I must whip up some pretty terrific sandwich bread, and fast!
All the food-stuffs aside, perhaps l’élément le plus parfait, (the most perfect item), is this regal tapestry scarf in royal blue and gold. I simply can not wait for an occasion to wrap myself in such a luxurious fabric.
Ha! Let’s be honest–I’m likely to wrap myself it this gorgeous scarf and head to the soccer field. I’m not afraid to bling up a hoodie in the name of fashion! I love it all, and relished the chance to exercise my mental muscles by dredging up three years of high school French class from the deep recesses of my brain.
