Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and given that we’re all friends here, coupled with the fact that this here blog is firmly a No Judgement Zone, I figured I was safe in assuming that y’all might be in need of ideas for last minute Christmas gifts.
I find that this time of year, there is always someone who’s day can be made a little brighter with a thoughtful, homemade gift. Perfect for a little token of appreciation to let them know that you were thinking of them.
How about the sweet neighbors that left a cookie platter on your doorstep while you were out shopping?
Or maybe a hostess gift for that holiday dinner party you’re attending, that your ((ahem!)) spouse may have neglected to mention until the night before?
Maybe you need something for the extra relatives that you didn’t realize were coming for the big holiday meal, until they showed up at your house?
Perhaps you feel like spreading a little cheer to your hair stylist, your trusty mail carrier, or the guy that walks his dog past your house at exactly 6:05 each evening.
Whomever is in need of gifting, I’ve got you covered with last minute Christmas gifts!
For regardless of the intended recipient, it never hurts to have a Little Something on deck for last minute gifting purposes, and this homemade Mayan hot cocoa mix is just the thing.
Mayan hot cocoa mix is a variation of the cocoa mix that I grew up with, but with a slight twist.
Although the Mayans may not have been accurate in their apocalyptic predictions, they did have the right idea in incorporating warm spices with a hint of heat to their hot chocolate. Mayan hot cocoa mix is sure to warm the hearts of many with the inclusion of cinnamon and just a touch of cayenne pepper. I highly recommend serving prepared Mayan Hot Cocoa Mix with fluffy whipped cream, freshly grated cinnamon, and chocolate covered cacao nibs on top. But that’s just me.
Trust me! You’ll love it.
And if you don’t, then I’ll happily drink your hot cocoa.
The best part is that hot cocoa mix literally comes together in seconds! Simply dump the ingredients into a tub, and then whisk to combine. Mere seconds of effort yields fabulous DIY gift giving, Friends!
Scoop the hot cocoa mix into canning jars, apply labels with directions, add cutesy ribbons, and you’re spreading Christmas Cheer worthy of Buddy the Elf in less than half an hour.
Last minute Christmas gifts don’t have to be difficult, and this Mayan Hot Cocoa Mix recipe is proof!
