This simple Caramel Apple Chai Latte amplifies the flavor of a basic cup of tea and frothy milk with shots of caramel and apple for a decadent sipper that tastes like a warm cup of relaxation.
Thank you Torani for sponsoring this post. I only use products that I know and trust in the creation of my recipes. All opinions are my own.
Back to School time requires having plenty of kid friendly snacks like Bakery Style Blueberry Muffins, Crunchy Granola Bars, ingredients for Smoothies at the ready. While all of those things are delicious, Back to School is also a time for parents to take a few kid free moments to relax. There. I said it. The kids go back to school to soak up all of the learning, and the parents get a wee little break from parenting for a few hours.
Well, unless you are a homeschool family like we are. Then that little break comes when I get the kiddos working independently on their math. At this point, I take a deep breath and enjoy a steamy mug of tea to relax a bit.
Nothing is more comforting to me than the smell of warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and the like–except for maybe the smell of warm caramel apple pie in the oven. Perhaps that’s why I’m such a huge fan of chai tea. Sipping the warmly spiced tea is just so comforting. When my friends at Torani sent me their Caramel and Apple syrups, I knew that a Caramel Apple Chai Latte was in order. Torani syrups boast a vibrant flavor that I find hard to replicate when making simple syrup at home. They’re the experts.
How to make Caramel Apple Chai Latte:
You can be an expert barista at home because making Caramel Apple Chai Latte is easier than it sounds. Simply brew a good cup of chai tea and stir in a few splashes of Torani Caramel and Apple syrups. While the tea is brewing, heat the milk over low heat to simmering–the point when the edges of the pan collect tiny, frothy bubbles. Vigorously whisk the milk to create a light foam on top before pouring it into the cup of tea. If you want an inexpensive way get the milk more foamy, a hand held milk frother works well. Once you’ve added the foamy milk, it’s time to sit back, relax, and enjoy. Unless of course your day could use an extra dose of relaxation. In that case, add some whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel to the mix. You totally deserve it!

Ingredients
- For the Latte:
- 1 single serving bag of quality chai tea
- 6 oz. boiling water
- 1 C. milk
- 1 tsp. Torani apple flavored syrup
- 1 tsp. Torani caramel flavored syrup
- For Serving (Optional):
- Whipped cream, to taste
- Freshly ground nutmeg, to taste
- Caramel sauce, to taste
Instructions
- Steep the tea in boiling water in a tall latte mug. While the tea is steeping, warm the milk in a small saucepan set over medium heat until it is steaming hot but not boiling. Once the milk is steamy, remove from heat. Use a handheld milk frother or whisk to vigorously agitate the milk until foamy and slightly thicker. The higher the fat content in the milk, the thicker the foam will be.
- Remove the tea bag from the mug. Stir in the apple and caramel flavored syrups. Slowly pour the steamy milk into the mug, using a large spoon to hold back as much foam as possible. Spoon the foam on top of the latte. Serve immediately.
- For an extra decadent treat, top with whipped cream, a few sprinkles of freshly grated nutmeg, and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
