Maple bacon and chocolate cookie recipes are being shared for this 4th day of Cookie Week 2012. Maple bacon and chocolate, oh my!
So far, Cookie Week has brought forth decorated shortbread cookies, lusciously-cake-like Glazed Honey Lemon Cookies, and some ridiculous-on-all-counts Turtle Thumbprints. Two days. Three cookies. I like those numbers.
On Day 3 of Cookie Week, I’d like to say that we take those numbers and kick it up a notch, but that wouldn’t be quite accurate. Today, we take those numbers and blow ’em out of the water! We can kick it up about three sky-high notches, because today, we’re sharing three new cookies recipes!
Three cookie recipes, featuring three simple but delicious ingredients: Maple bacon and chocolate.
Before the bacon makes an appearance, the lovely Madeline/Munching in the Mitten shares a classic Dorie Greenspan cookie recipe for Chocolate Chunkers. Rich, chocolate cookies, stuffed to the max with peanuts, and both semi-sweet and white chocolate chips. Chocolate Valhalla, my Friends. Chocolate Valhalla.
And right when you think you’ve had all the chocolate you could possibly handle in one cookie, Megan/Country Cleaver takes the matter just that much further with her Homemade Mint Oreos.
Oh, yes she did.
All of which is further proof that when it comes to the holiday season, chocolate and mint should be in All the Things.
Just because Megan is the thoughtful kind of girl that she is, she’s partnering with Roul’Pat to give away one huge silicone baking mat! The Large Size Roul’Pat is a whopping 23″ by 31″ – big enough to cover your whole counter. With a non-skid backing to ensure that you can roll your crusts and cookies instead of chasing them all over the counter tops. I couldn’t love my Silpat mats enough, and they’re a touch pricey, so getting a one for free is big stuff, Friends! You’d better believe I’m going to enter to win one!
And now…time for the bacon that I promised at the beginning of this post.
Maple bacon and chocolate? No, but maple and bacon for sure!
My Mixed Con roomie and favorite New Englander, Carrie/Bakeaholic Mama, shifts gears entirely with her unexpected, yet oh-so-welcome Maple Bacon Sugar Cookies.
You heard me.
Maple. Bacon. Sugar. Cookies!
Because how do you make a maple sugar cookie even better? Exactly. You put bacon in it. Way to rock it out, Carrie!
Tomorrow Cookie Week takes a turn with one blogger baking another’s recipe to share with friends, and a gorgeous cookie and tribute post that should not be missed.
