The days are a bit shorter. The wind a bit colder. The leaves are tinged yellow, orange, or red. Fall has definitely arrived Up North. It’s the time our thoughts turn to Fall hikes and jumping in leaves, picking apples and pumpkins, warm cider and cinnamon-y donuts. Or swimming in an outdoor pool.
Wait.
What?!
Swimming in a pool when it is windy, and rainy, and 48 degrees outside? Who does that? What a bunch of nut-jobs!
Oh, wait. That’s Hubby in there with my boys, of course. And our friends & their kids are floating right next to them.
My BFF Kelly thought it would be wildly fun to crank up the heat in her pool for one last swim. She was right. The water was steamy 94 degrees. It was kind of like sitting in a sauna, then jumping in the snow afterward. Very warm and refreshing! The baby was upset that he didn’t get to swim too–he kept crawling toward the edge of the pool in his flannel jeans and sweater. Everyone else had a ball splashing around in the pool. The kids got a real kick out of seeing the steam come off the water.
Well, everyone but Danielle & I. Some of us had to stay on the pool deck and sip warm cider in our parkas. Just thought we’d give y’all a little perspective on the weather.
