One of the greatest forms of flattery to blogger is when a fellow blogger asks you to write a guest post. Makes me smile every time someone asks, but unfortunately I can’t always manage a guest post and keep up with my boys, life, and my own blog. I hate it when I have to decline, so I really try to accommodate the other blogger’s time frame, because I am a “helper” by nature. Besides, guest posting is fun!
However, this time of year can be a bit tricky. Anyone with kiddos knows how crazy the end of the school year can be with all of the research reports, end of the year assessments, field trips, missing library books needing to be found, etc. Pure, unadulterated craziness.
So when Kat @ Tenaciously Yours asked if I would write a guest post for her, I really wanted to do it. I adore Kat. I love reading her blog. We are convinced that cosmically we are kind of kindred spirits. Most importantly, Kat and Marcus were married last weekend, and she was looking for a few posts for her blog in her absence. See, the happy couple is honeymooning in Europe for the next 2 weeks, therefore they will be “unplugged” from modern technology. Sounds pretty blissful to me! How could I not do a guest post?
Normally, I just kind of “Wing it with Randomness” when it comes to a guest post, but since Kat’s request came at a time when I was clawing my way out overcoming a wicked case of writer’s block, she recommended something in the Wedding Snafus category.
Naturally, the first thing that popped into my head was when the Best Man at our wedding began his reception speech by announcing to the crowd that I had “just taken my first pee as a married woman.” It only got more awesome from there. (Still love ya, Handlon!) Then memories of other wedding toasts that went horribly awry came flooding forth, and a guest post was born!
So click on over to Kat’s blog to see my guest post on When the Best Man Really Isn’t…
I promise that the laughs will be worth the extra effort. 🙂
